Indonesia is the largest archipelagic nation in the world with 18,000 islands and islets and abundant natural resources. Consequently, Indonesia continues to depend primarily on maritime shipments for its international and domestic trade. It is strategically located to transport liquid and dry commodities demand throughout the world, especially in the Asia Pacific region.

Indonesia has now emerged as a significant thermal coal producer. Driven primarily by dynamic Asian industrial and power generation for competitively priced fuel, demand for Indonesian coal is predicted to remain strong in the future. PT. Jaya Samudra Karunia began operating its first coal carrying vessel at that time with 2 Handmax and several Panamax, and up to now the company has developed to operate any kind of sea coal transportation from Special Coal Carrier (10,000 DWT) and Panamax (65,000 DWT). From November 2004 until June 2007, we were transporting at least 3.3 Million tons of coal to our customers.
